applied to organs in which partial imperfections exist, e.g. in the pinnae of Adiantum spp. where the [lamina](https://eflora.sydney.edu.au/glossary/lamina "expanded portion of a leaf or fern frond; leaf blade.") is fully developed on one side of the [midrib](https://eflora.sydney.edu.au/glossary/midrib "the principal vein which runs from the base to the apex of the leaf.") only.
