CGEN offers multidisciplinary capstone design courses to fourth year students across the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering. In this full academic year course, 4-5 students are paired with a company, NGO or aid organisation to work on real-world global development problems, and receive guidance from a faculty member. Students are expected to conduct engineering analysis and design, while considering interdisciplinary elements such as environmental, health, safety, social, economic and other factors. The students are responsible for applying their knowledge to meet their client’s specific needs.
