Appointment of James (Jim) Banting as Assistant Vice-President, Innovations, Partnerships and Entrepreneurship\ Original Communication — Provost’s Weekly Digest: February 13, 2026
Dr. James (Jim) Banting has been appointed Assistant Vice-President, Innovations, Partnerships and Entrepreneurship (AVP-IPE), effective March 23, 2026. Joining the Vice-President’s executive team, Jim will provide advice, guidance, information and support to the Vice-President, providing strategic direction and integrated oversight of the University’s commercial research partnerships, industry research engagement, and innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The call for proposals is now open for the TechKnowFile 2026 (previously IT@UofT) conference \ Original Communication – Techknowfile website: February 10, 2026
The conference will take place in-person on St. George campus on May 6 and 7. This year’s conference theme is “Building Tomorrow Together” and all U of T staff, faculty and librarians are invited to submit a proposal to speak. The deadline to submit is March 6, 2026.
