Black Liberation Month 2025

Our theme was Food Justice is Justice for All.  This theme celebrates the importance of food, while asking the community to think about the role of food, and lack thereof, as a function of society. With global warming, food deserts, and famines affecting so many of us, BCSC feels this is a great time to consider such an important resource. Continuing with this theme furthers the conversation of the power of narrative as a tool for understanding, healing, and empowerment. We gather for and around food, so let’s celebrate its power! We invite you to think creatively and expansively about food and its impact on our lives. Simone Bart-Plange (℅ 2027) and Jack Quale (℅ 2028) already kicked us off by creating this year’s BLM logo. Be sure to thank them for setting the vibe because they did what needed to be done– thanks y’all!
