## Art Practice Major

### Suggested Preparation

Students considering a major in art practice should take the following three introductory courses during their frosh or sophomore years, which give students a broad overview of the field:

- [ARTSTUDI 101: Foundations 2D](https://bulletin.stanford.edu/courses/2232931)
- [ARTSTUDI 102: Foundations 3D/4D](https://bulletin.stanford.edu/courses/2232941)
- [ARTHIST 5: Art and Power](https://bulletin.stanford.edu/courses/2236901)

### Fields of Study and Degree Options

Students are exposed to a range of practices early in their development in order to have a solid basis for comparison if they choose to focus on a particular medium. In all courses students are expected to pass midterm and final reviews and critiques of their work.
