"As a first-generation college student, my parents were apprehensive about me leaving to attend school so far away. From my first moments on the Stanford campus, the A³C played a key role in integrating me into the university.

What Is a Big Sib?

A Big Sib is an upperclass Stanford student who serves as a peer mentor to first year frosh and/or transfer students to help ensure a successful first year.  Big Sibs share their knowledge of resources on campus that helped in their own first-year experience and transition at Stanford as well as their knowledge of the community and how to become involved.

Responsibilities of a Big Sib

Interested in Becoming a Big Sib?

The priority deadline for all participating Big Sibs to complete an individual application is Friday, September 19th, 2025 @ 11:59 PM PT.  Students who want to create a SibFam together must elect and identify a "team leader" on their application who fill out certain sections of the application for their prospective SibFam.

Applications to be a Big Sib are available until Friday, September 19th, 2025 @ 11:59 PM PT. Apply with other co-Bigs or as an individual looking to create a family! If you and your SibFam choose to apply, please note the program changes and keep in mind the time commitment and dedication we ask of you. All participating Big Sibs from your SibFam must complete the Big Sib Training on Friday, September 26th from 4:30-6PM PT to participate in the SibFam Reveal during AANSOC. Please answer the questions on the form with as much detail as possible and we will do our best to match the members of your SibFam with Lil Sibs!
