By providing a space for students to grapple with thorny questions about identity, race and class, the A³C and its fellow community centers are able to develop leaders with a more mature sophisticated understanding of how to work with diverse communities

The Stanford Asian American Awards was created in 1999 by the Asian American Activities Center (A³C) Advisory Board--a body that works to promote the center's mission of serving students and uplifting Asian American issues, needs, and experiences. This award ceremony brings together different segments of the Stanford community in celebration of those who have exemplified the center's mission through great dedication and service in the advancement of Asian American issues.

The recipients of the Stanford Asian American Awards are selected from a wide range of individuals throughout the Stanford community. Categories for each sector of the community have been established to fully recognize those who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to furthering the diverse needs, perspectives, and experiences of Asian Americans.

The Stanford Asian American Awards Ceremony is an opportunity for collective joy, inspiration, and community building.
