About this scholarship
The Australian National University (ANU) (‘the University’) may offer a number of awards known as the ANU Vice-Chancellor’s International Achievement Award (‘the Award’).
The objective of the Award is to attract a diverse range of academically capable overseas students to enrol in undergraduate and postgraduate coursework programs offered by the University.
Funding for this Award is provided by the Australian National University.

Eligibility
The Award is available to an ANU student who:
- is an international student;
- is a new commencing student or a continuing student who has received an offer of admission to a higher AQF level of studies;
- holds residential status in one of the following Countries or Regions:
- China (including Taiwan, Hong Kong SAR and Macau SAR)
- Japan
- Mongolia
- Republic of Korea
- The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea
- meets the minimum academic entry requirements:
- undergraduate applicants: a Selection Rank of 85 (or equivalent as determined by the University) or above, or
- postgraduate applicants: a minimum GPA of 5.5 (or equivalent)
- is not the recipient of an external sponsorship that covers all or part of the students tuition fees at the University; and
- acknowledges that the award can be offered only once at each level of study, except where an applicant progresses from an undergraduate degree (AQF Level 7) to a one-year Honours program (AQF Level 8), or accepts a packaged offer (e.g., a Graduate Certificate leading to a Master’s degree).
Additional information
Only applicants who meet all the eligibility criteria will be considered. Selection is made based on academic merit. Qualifications submitted for admission to the University will be converted to the common scale, which will determine whether an applicant is eligible for the Award. Eligible applicants with multiple qualifications will be ranked according to the qualification used as the basis of admission.
The value of the Award is stated in the letter of offer. The duration of the Award is one year, with the tuition scholarship applied towards tuition at the start of each semester.
The recipient is responsible for making payment of all tuition fees by the prescribed date as set out by the University each session. Recipients of the Award are responsible for the costs of books, study materials, accommodation and all other costs of study.
There is no need to apply for the scholarship. All eligible students applying for admission to commence at the university will be automatically considered.
