Career Interest Assessment – Based on Holland’s RIASEC Theory

Holland’s Theory of Career Interests was developed in 1959 by American vocational psychologist Dr. John Holland. It is one of the most influential career development theories and classification systems, primarily used to explore career guidance from the perspective of personal interest. The theory supports individuals in making informed career choices, career designs, and career adjustments, and in comprehensively understanding and developing their vocational abilities.

Holland’s theory posits an intrinsic correspondence between an individual’s vocational interests and occupational environments. Based on differences in personal interests, individuals can be categorized into six personality types: Realistic (R), Investigative (I), Artistic (A), Social (S), Enterprising (E) and Conventional (C). These six types form a hexagonal model, also known as the RIASEC model, which illustrates the relative similarity and compatibility between types. Every individual’s personality is a unique combination of these six dimensions to varying degrees.

Personality Assessment – MBTI® Career Personality Test

The MBTI® (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) is the world’s most widely used personality assessment tool, with over two million people taking the assessment annually. It is a forced-choice, self-report questionnaire designed to measure and describe individuals’ preferences in how they gather information, make decisions, and orient themselves toward life.

The MBTI® is primarily grounded in Dr. Carl Jung’s theory of psychological types, particularly perception and judgment. It broadly categorizes individuals into 16 personality types. The MBTI provides a simple yet effective framework for identifying similarities and differences among people. When individuals become aware of these differences, they can achieve greater mutual understanding and reduce conflict. As a result, the MBTI® enhances team collaboration and performance, while minimizing unnecessary interpersonal and organizational friction. Individuals can use their MBTI® results to understand their preferred learning styles, evaluate their job fit, and improve time management and stress management.
