Academic Background
PhD, Chemical Engineering, University of Maine (USA)\ BSc, Biochemical Engineering, Jacobs University Bremen (Germany)
Biography
I grew up in Ghana and graduated with a bachelor's degree in biochemical engineering from Jacobs University Bremen in Germany. I then pursued my doctorate in chemical engineering at the University of Maine in the United States. After completing my doctoral studies, I undertook a postdoctoral fellowship in Chile at Universidad de Concepción and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Additionally, I worked as a research associate in Japan at the University of Tokyo and Tokyo Metropolitan University. My research focuses on developing sustainable catalytic processes, emphasizing biomass valorization, methane functionalization, and carbon dioxide utilization. As of February 2025, I have published 44 peer-reviewed articles and a book chapter.
I enjoy watching sports, mainly soccer and American football. Instead of supporting teams, I tend to favor individual players. I am a huge fan of Tom Brady, the late, great Kobe Bryant, and Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima.
