1. Personal Information

You are required to provide the following personal information.

2. Educational Background

You are required to list all secondary (junior and senior high school from 7th grade to 12th grade) and post-secondary (min. 2 years of university) educational institutions you attended.

3. English Language Qualifications

5. Additional Information

You are encouraged to list any significant academic achievements or awards/honors you have received, as well as any extracurricular activities (e.g. internship, volunteer) in which you have participated. (500-word limit each)

Evaluator B Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, or equivalent*

*Name of academic positions may vary depending on your country. - The email addresses provided must be official university email addresses. - Once your application is submitted, the URL to the online evaluation form will be auto-sent to your evaluators via email. - A confirmation email will be sent to you once the evaluation forms are successfully submitted. It is your responsibility to remind them if necessary. - Please ensure in advance that they are willing and able to provide an evaluation for you by the given deadline. We do not accept late submissions or any changes in evaluators.

7. Application Fee

You are required to pay a non-refundable application fee (10,000 Japanese Yen + processing fee) online and then upload the payment receipt to 8. Required documents.

You are required to prepare and to submit all required documents by uploading them onto the application form.

9. Declaration

At the end of the online application, you are required to sign the declaration electronically.

10. Other Points to Note

The University of Tokyo has established the “The University of Tokyo Security Export Control Regulations” in accordance with Japan’s “Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade Act”, and rigorously implements security export control for potential students before and after their enrollment on the basis of these regulations. In particular, pre-enrollment screenings are mandatory for all international students and also for Japanese students in certain circumstances. Please be aware that applicants who fall under any of the conditions set out in the Act may not receive permission to enroll at the university or may have their research activities restricted after their enrollment even if they have passed the entrance examinations.
