農学の分野でも、水をはじめとする流体の動きの物理的解析が多くの場合で必要となる。例えば、水源から圃場までの適切な配水や各種農業水利施設の設計には水の動きの詳細な解析が必要であり、水質や地域生態系などの環境問題を科学的に取り扱うには河川や湖沼での水と溶存物質の動きの解析が必要である。そこで、本講では質点の力学を出発点としてそれを流体へと拡張し、流体の運動を解析する物理学的、数学的手法の基礎を学ぶ。つまり、流体力学の基本を習得し、それを水理学へと応用する基礎を身に付ける。 本講の達成目標は、(1)流体運動の数学的な取り扱いに習熟する、(2)圧力、粘性などの流体に働く力の概念を説明できる、(3)質量保存則、エネルギー保存則、運動量保存則を用いて流体の運動を数学的に記述できる、(4)ポテンシャル流、層流や乱流の性質について説明ができる、などである。

近年、アカデミックでプロフェッショナルな歴史学者による歴史と、歴史学者の仕事とはときに無関係に普通の人びとにより認識され、語られ、書かれる歴史との距離や関係性への関心が高まっている。博物館や教育現場、放送メディアやインターネット空間、記念集会や記憶の場など公共空間における歴史は、専門的学知と社会と政治とが接する、緊張感あふれる交点上に立ち現れる。授業では、公共領域における過去とそれをめぐる表象、対立、議論などについて、東欧の「歴史消費大国」ポーランドを事例として考察する。

担当者の報告と、参加者全員の討論によって進める。毎週、丹念に辞書を引き、わからない言葉を調べながらテクストを読まなくてはいけないので、予習の負担は重い。ほかの授業の成績や就職・進学のことはとりあえず忘れて（「放棄せよ」と言っているのではない。念のため）、下調べに専心し、大学院生を含む参加者と活発に議論する、「ノリのよさ」のない人はお断り。なお、前近代・明治時代のテクストを読みたい人は、大学院演習（金曜２限、今年は大橋訥庵『闢邪小言』）に単位なしで参加するのも可。 受講者は対面形式で参加できる者のみに限る。授業時間は毎回延長する。

せっかく東京大学に来たのですから、講義を聞いたり本や論文を読んだりするばかりではなく、論文（計画書）として学修成果を形にしてみませんか。本演習では、現代日本政治研究に興味がある学生を対象に、基本的な研究法の修得から始め、若手研究者との対話、最新の研究例の検討、そして参加者一人一人の研究計画書作成までを指導します。 その先のデータ・資料の収集・分析や論文の作成まで関心のある人（法学部生・公共政策大学院生）は、本演習と並行して、またはAセメスター以降にリサーチペイパーを履修してください。 単なる研究のための研究に終わらせず、現代日本政治に対してレレヴァンスのある射程の大きなリサーチデザインを立てる力を養うことが目標です。

この講義は、現代中国の政治外交を対象とします。概ね1949年の人民共和国建国以後を扱いますが、それ以前の事柄も必要に応じて触れます。現代政治史から始め、統治構造、政治と経済、政治と社会、国際関係、国家統合など、中国の政治に関わるさまざまなトピックについて広く紹介します。可能な限り広く論点をカバーするよう努めますが、時間は限られています。その意味で、本講義は中国政治の導入という位置づけになります。受講者の皆さんは積極的に書籍や論文を読んでいただき、自由に学びを深めていただきたいと思います。
