CiRA boasts a range of cutting-edge facilities for its scientists.

Animal Research Facility

This facility conducts experiment including breeding, imaging, etc., and assures experiments satisfy the ethical requirements of research at Kyoto University.

Drug Discovery Technology Development Office

This unit provides tools for drug screening including candidate compounds, reagents and equipment. It also provides support for the application of iPS cell technology to drug screening.

Common Equipment Management Office

This unit is responsible for the management and operation of common equipment at CiRA.

  1. FACS Group\ Supports flow cytometric analysis.
  2. Imaging Group\ Supports live imaging of cells and tissues (confocal and multiphoton microscopes).
  3. Genome Analysis Group\ Genome and epigenome analysis using next generation sequencers.
  4. Protein Analysis Group\ Comprehensive protein analysis using mass spectrometry.
