Requirements

■ Regulations for Obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree

1) Period of class: 4 years to 6 years (can be shortened by 1 year)

2) Period of enrollment: up to 8 years (able to extend by 1 year for multiple majors or combined majors)

3) Average grade: The average grade of all subjects is at least 2.0, and the average grade of major subjects is at least 2.0.

4) Graduation thesis\ – Period of submission : Expected graduation in February (Mid-December) / Expected graduation in August (Mid-June)

1) Major subjects opened by the Department of Physics and Astronomy, Mathematical Sciences, Statistics are all certified\ 2) Up to 15 credits are certified among other major courses opened by College of Natural Sciences and College of Engineering\ 3) Other subjects certified by the Department of Astronomy

■ Course Requirements

1) At least 60 credits out of the major selection accredited courses should be completed\ 2) Astronomical Observation and Lab.1 (3345.319), Astronomical Observation and Lab.2 (3345.320), Introduction to Astrophysics 1 (3345.322)

,Introduction to Astrophysics 2 (3345.420) are mandatory courses.

3) In addition, at least 2 courses out of Star and Stellar System (300.215), Galaxies and Universe (300.218), Solar System Astronomy and Lab (3345.321), Introduction to Stellar Atmosphere (3345.421), Modern Cosmology (3348.454), Supervised Reading and Research on Astronomy (3345.419)(or  Thesis Research and Writing (M1420.000400), Computational Astronomy (3348.455), Introduction to Astronomical Instrumentation (3348.456), Space Environment (3348.457) should be completed

■ Course Requirements for Multiple Major

1) At least 39 credits out of the major selection accredited courses should be completed.\ 2) Mandatory courses are the same as single major courses

■ Course Requirements for Minor

1) At least 21 credits out of the major selection accredited courses should be completed\ 2) Astronomical Observation and Lab.1 (3345.319), Astronomical Observation and Lab.2 (3345.320), Introduction to Astrophysics 1 (3345.322)

,Introduction to Astrophysics 2 (3345.420) are mandatory courses.

The Scientific Thinking and Experiment At least 12 credits out of Statistics(3), Physics 1,2(or Honor Physics1,2 or Foundation of Physics1,2)(6), Physics(3), Chemistry1,2(or Basic Chemistry 1,2)(6), Chemistry(3), Biology 1,2 (6), Biology(3), Earth and Environmental Sciences(3), Astronomy(3), Atmospheric Science(3), Earth System Science (3), Oceanography(3) (But, department of Statistics should complete Statistics(3 credits)) - Students who complete subject with Lab course should complete that Lab course at the same semester. (Students who complete Honor Physics1,2(6) should complete Physics Lab1,2(2).) - Students who didn’t complete high school Physics 1,2 (or Chemistry 1,2) may complete Foundation of Physics1,2 (or Basic Chemistry1,2) instead of Physics1,2(or Chemistry1,2). But, Physics Lab1,2(or Chemistry Lab1,2) should be completed at the same semester.
