  1. Educational goals
      1. Foster competitive scholars specializing in Southeast Asia
  3. Encourage to develop highly advanced language skills and thorough understanding to get ready for the graduate programs and eventually become competitive scholars.
  4. 2.  Foster experts of regional studies
  5. The field aims to foster experts who can work at private or public organizations as well as build career in the local areas.
    1. Education focused on diversity and practicality
  7. Southeast Asia is foremost diverse regions in the fields examined by the Department of Asian Languages and Civilizations.

  8. Therefore, the curriculum aims to develop comprehensive understudying of pre-modern and modern aspects of each region, and aware of commonalities and differences among diverse countries, religions and cultures.

  9. Contents of education

    1. Language education
  11. Open courses of Malay-Indonesian and Vietnamese. Furthermore, encourage students to have advanced skills to be able to actually work in the local areas.
  12. Plan on opening other Southeast Asian language courses such as Thai depending on the demand.
