On-campus events

Presentations

Presentations are an ideal way to introduce your company or organisation to our students and graduates, to tell them about your vacancies, internship and placement opportunities and graduate schemes. They take place during the autumn term, particularly October and November, and again during the spring term throughout February and March.

Employer Pop-Ups

Set up a promotional stand on campus in an area of high footfall on campus, inside or outside, and engage with our students in a more relaxed environment. You may wish to set up a fun and interactive activity, or offer them a coffee or hot chocolate as you chat about your opportunities with them.\ \ To book a presentation or a Pop-Up on campus, please contact us with your expression of interest by completing the Event Request Form and we will check date availability, aiming to avoid competing events and presentations.

There are five bookable presentation slots a week (not including pop-ups).
Non-catered, room-only requests booked on weekdays between 9-6pm are free of charge.
Bookings requiring catering, additional IT equipment and/or support, as well as evening events will incur a venue hire charge.

Bookings incurring a charge are reserved directly with the central University Conferencing Team. Room charges for a presentation with catering, additional IT /support start at approximately £300 and Employer Pop-Up bookings start at approximately £500. You will be referred to the conferencing team to arrange your venue once we have confirmed a date with you.

Please note: Event requests (inc. Recruiter in Residence) will only be accepted if received four weeks or more before the proposed date of the event. This then provides the team with sufficient time to organise and promote your presentation /visit to campus.

Recruiter in Residence

This newly established programme offers you the opportunity to host your own employer drop-in. Located in University Place, our landmark building and an area of high footfall, this allows you to sit down one-to-one with students in an informal setting and tell them about your opportunities and your sector as a whole.

Recruiter in Residence takes place every Tuesday and Thursday and there is no charge to take part. If you would like to enquire about booking a slot, please contact careers.events@manchester.ac.uk

Promoting your event

All on-campus employer events will be promoted via CareerConnect, our careers portal available to all students at the University of Manchester.
The event will be included in a general 'Upcoming Events' email sent to all students who have registered to receive them.
