Our Department offers rich and varied options for you to gain industrial experience. You can choose a BEng or MEng with industrial experience, or benefit more generally from our industry connections and careers services.

A year in industry will enable you to develop team working and transferable skills sought after by graduate employers, as well as an awareness of the broad range of careers on offer.

You will have an Industrial Experience Officer who will support you and offer guidance through the application process. This involves organising CV workshops, interview practice sessions and application form guidance. We also run peer mentor sessions where you can learn from other students experiences.

## Placement advantages

80% of students who completed a placement in the past three years have achieved a 2:1 or above.

Your year in industry is funded as part of your degree (if you're an overseas student, your placement year is included in your visa).

If a formal year in industry doesn't appeal to you, you can still take advantage of industrial experience opportunities through our industrial links. Our Department has connections with leading engineering companies, and we place great importance on you getting employment experience during any degree.

Explore your options by looking through our undergraduate courses, and please talk to us first if you have any queries before applying.
