The Museum of Medicine and Health contains one of the most extensive collections of medical instruments and equipment in England.
Spanning more than 300 years, the collection represents a significant educational and cultural asset for The University of Manchester.
As part of the [Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health](https://www.bmh.manchester.ac.uk/) the museum actively supports [social responsibility](https://www.bmh.manchester.ac.uk/connect/social-responsibility/) priorities by placing science in a social and historical context.
## People
The museum is under the stewardship of the [Centre for the History of Science, Technology and Medicine](https://www.chstm.manchester.ac.uk/), with Dr Harriet Palfreyman as Academic Lead.
A part-time Heritage Officer, Stephanie Seville, helps make the collection accessible to students, staff and researchers at the University, as well as local schools and at public exhibitions and engagement events.
