UoM Micro Internships with Practera

What is a Micro Internship?

A two-week virtual work-based learning programme delivered in partnership with Practera.

Real clients, real projects, real outcomes.

You will be part of a team of 6 or 7 University of Manchester students, consulting an organisation on a current priority. Project areas may include: Growth Strategy, Digital Marketing, AI Strategy, Sustainable Impact – you can specify your preference when you apply.

UoM Micro-internships with Practera are an ideal way to demonstrate having gained work-like experience with only 25 hours commitment.

Purpose of this programme:

2025/26 Cohort Groups and Dates:

Spring Cohorts (February 23rd - March 9th 2026)

International Post Graduate Taught (PGT) Students

Pre-final Year Undergraduates

Easter Cohorts (April 7th - April 20th 2026)

International Undergraduates

'Made for It' Students: Made for It is a closed programme for students on selected bursaries and scholarships and is not open for application. If you are not on the programme, then you are not eligible to apply for this strand of micro-internships.

Summer Cohorts (June 15th - June 29th 2026)

Chinese Students

Indian Students

Graduates

Black Leadership Programme Students (July 20th - August 3rd 2026)

Roles & Expectations

How does it work?

  1. Attend online Orientation Session (students meet their team, receive their project brief and are guided through the programme requirements by the Practera team)
  2. Attend online Project Briefing Session (students meet their Industry Partners)
  3. Work together with your team to support your industry client and put together your report
  4. Submit draft report (this will be at the end of Week 1)
  5. Submit Team 360 and Final Report
  6. Final Reflection

How to apply

The submission of a completed application form does not guarantee that applicants will be awarded a place on the Programme. Applicants will be updated with the outcome of their application within 3 weeks of the closing date.
