Automated External Defibrillators
AEDs or Defibrillator or Defibs
An AED is a very simple piece of equipment that can be used by anyone to greatly increase the chances of saving the life of someone who has collapsed in cardiac arrest.
There are now a number of defibrillators or Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) at various points across the University. To find out where have a look at the Interactive Campus Map. For more information on each individual defibrillator (such as exact location) double click on the icon.
AEDs are also available at many locations throughout Manchester (Piccadilly Station, Trafford Centre, Arndale Centre and Manchester Airport for example). They are also available in these locations, near the University:
- The Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute (Reception)
- Wolfson Molecular Imaging Centre
- Sugden Sports Centre
- Aquatics Centre
- The Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM)
Watch this video from St John Ambulance to see how to use a defibrillator.
