Loading Docks

There are six (6) loading docks, accessible from Columbia Road:

• Health Sciences—AA dock
• Health Sciences—D dock: Reserved for Facilities Services vehicles, Monday-Friday, 5 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Health Sciences—G dock
• Health Sciences—J/K dock
• Foege Building
• South Campus Center

Vehicle use

University and delivery vehicles may park while unloading only. No general parking is allowed. Use is on a first-come, first-served basis. Docks are busier in the mornings and traffic usually turns over quickly. Parking longer than 30 minutes is prohibited and may result in a ticket.

Deliveries

Loading docks are not staffed and HS Building Management does not receive deliveries. Contact your delivery service or vendor if you are looking for a delivery. Departments should arrange to meet high-value deliveries at the dock.

Special Deliveries

In order to protect the building and elevators, delivery of very large or heavy equipment should be communicated to HS Building Management and UW Facilities.

Recycling

There are a variety of recycling stations on the loading docks, but not all docks have the same recycling centers. For information on how to dispose of specific items, please review UW Recycling’s Disposal Guide. Please contact UW Recycle if you have any questions.

• All docks have compost, flattened cardboard, mixed paper, pallet/unfinished wood, mixed container recycling, bagged Styrofoam, and garbage disposal bins.
• Printer toner cartridges can be disposed of at AA and J/K docks.
• Sharps can be disposed of at the J/K loading dock, but access to the sharps dumpster is restricted.
• Surplus items, hardbound books, fluorescent bulbs, eMedia, and confidential materials all have special disposal procedures, based on UW Recycling’s Disposal Guide.
