Each of our degree programmes has a minimum entry requirement. You will only be eligible to apply with minimum entry requirements if you qualify for a widening access Plus Flag offer.

What are minimum entry requirements?

We give extra consideration to applicants who have faced certain barriers that could make attending university more challenging.

One way we do this is by having a set of minimum entry requirements which are normally lower than the standard entry requirements we expect applicants to meet. We also refer to these as ‘widening access requirements’.

Minimum entry requirements are always expressed as a single set of grades regardless of qualification type, for example:

Who is eligible for an offer at the minimum entry requirement?

Typically, we will make you an offer at the minimum entry requirement if we assess that you qualify for a widening access Plus Flag offer.

Challenging circumstances

If you do not qualify for a widening access offer, you may still have experienced challenging circumstances you want us to be aware of.

However, you will still be required to meet the standard entry requirements for your chosen programme.

Check our Consideration of challenging circumstances policy for more information.

Admissions policies and procedures: see Consideration of challenging circumstances (Policy)

Competition and offer levels

Even if you qualify for a widening access Plus Flag offer, this does not mean we can guarantee you will be made an offer.
