A range of study options and programmes are available for international students at the University of Edinburgh, including undergraduate, postgraduate, short term study abroad programmes and foundation programmes.

Undergraduate study

An undergraduate degree is a first degree for those who do not already hold one. To apply for a full-time undergraduate degree programme with us you must apply through Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS).

Postgraduate study

A postgraduate degree is a second degree for university graduates, leading to a masters or PhD qualification. Some of our postgraduate degrees are taught entirely online so you can study while you work, wherever you live.

Study abroad programmes

You can select from five flexible options to study abroad at the University of Edinburgh and you can choose to study for one semester or the full academic year.

International Foundation Programme

The International Foundation Programme (IFP) offers international students a route into an undergraduate degree at the University of Edinburgh.
