Zero-emission building

This research theme focuses on optimising building envelopes to achieve zero-emission performance, taking into account factors such as geographical location, available building resources, and climate. By integrating machine learning techniques with finite element method simulations, we develop surrogate models that predict and optimise thermal performance as well as other key aspects of building performance. This axis of research aims at supporting the development of energy-efficient, sustainable buildings that contribute to the reduction of carbon emissions and enhance the resilience of the built environment.
