Biography

Miguel is a postdoctoral researcher in the Oxford Green Ammonia Technology (OXGATE) and Energy Power Group (EPG) at the Department of Engineering Science, University of Oxford.

Miguel has a background in electrical engineering. He is in the process of completing his PhD at the University of Manchester and Universidad de Chile as part of a dual-degree program. He obtained his MSc and BSc degrees from the Universidad de Chile.

Research Interests

Miguel's research focuses on developing tools that enhance the understanding of energy markets, regulations, and the impacts of energy policies. He specialises in creating advanced mathematical models based on optimisation frameworks, game theory, and equilibrium models, which allow for the simulation and analysis of various economic dynamics in energy systems. Additionally, he models decentralised decision-making in local energy markets, with a particular emphasis on energy fairness within equilibrium models.
