Biography
Dr. Hoa Xuan Nguyen is a civil engineer specialising in fluid dynamics, computational physics, and machine learning applications in engineering. He earned his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Trinity College Dublin in 2022, focusing on the dynamic response of floating offshore wind turbines. Prior to this, he obtained his M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Civil Engineering in Vietnam.
Dr. Nguyen is currently a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in the Environmental Fluid Mechanics Group at the University of Oxford. His work explores fluid-structure interactions and applies advanced numerical models and machine learning techniques (Diffusion Models) to address complex engineering challenges.
He has also held academic and researc positions in Vietnam and Ireland, contributing to EU-funded projects and industry collaborations. Dr. Nguyen is an active researcher with multiple publications, awards (including SEAI), and memberships (such as AVSE Global). He regularly contributes as a journal reviewer and conference organizer.
