The Oxford Thermofluids Institute supports a range of equality, diversity and outreach activities undertaken by staff and students within the Institute and the Department of Engineering Science more broadly. Outreach activities provide an exciting opportunity for us to share some of the cutting-edge research conducted at the OTI in a way that aims to be as interactive and engaging as possible, hopefully enthusing the next generation of engineers.
We have developed an outreach kit with various components that demonstrates a broad array of the activities at the OTI. This includes, amongst other things, a 3D printed, portable bench-top wind tunnel, a 3D printed motorised jet engine, a thermochromic space shuttle model, infra-red camera and a virtual reality headset that allows for a “tour” of the lab!
