Biography

Mike Groom joined the Cognitive Robotics Group at the Oxford Robotics Institute as a DPhil student in 2023 under the supervision of Dr. Lars Kunze. He holds a MEng degree in General Engineering (Aeronautical) from Durham University and previously worked as a Robotics Engineer at Jacobs, focusing on robotics for inspection and nuclear decommissioning tasks. His research focuses on developing safety requirements for domestic robots, with a specific focus on perception and manipulation tasks.
