Dr. Samia Khan is an Associate Professor in the UBC Faculty of Education’s Department of Curriculum and Pedagogy. Her equity, diversity and inclusion research includes studies on gender and race in STEM education. As a former Associate Dean of Research, she has overseen equity initiatives, especially among early, mid-career and senior scholars in the academy. Dr. Khan has leadership experience addressing key themes in the academy such as mentorship, research excellence, internationalization, hiring practices, and EDI. She has consulted with governments on educational policy, including the Academic Reference Committee of the Scottish Parliament and the UK All Party Parliamentary Group on Diversity and Inclusion in STEM.
