Anyone who studies must pay tuition fee or a proportional part of the tuition fee. The level of tuition fee is set every year. You will pay either the statutory rate or the institutional rate, depending on your situation. For more information about the rates, please see the Tuition fees - DUO website.

You pay the statutory rate if you have any of the following nationalities: Dutch or that of another EU/EEA country, Swiss, or Surinamese; or if you have a Dutch residence permit that includes entitlement to pay the statutory rate.

Statutory rate : | | | | | --- | --- | --- | | | 2025/2026 | 2026/2027 | | Statutory rate | € 2.601 | € 2.694 | | Elective course | Proof of paid tuition fee (known as a ‘BBC’) | Proof of paid tuition fee   (known as a ‘BBC’) | | Minor | Proof of paid tuition fee   (known as a ‘BBC’) | Proof of paid tuition fee   (known as a ‘BBC’) | | Bridging and Educational module | € 43,35 per EC | € 44,90 per EC | | 2nd study | Seewebpage | See webpage | | Exchange | Exempted for up to 12 months* | Exempted for up to 12 months* | | External student | € 7.160 | € 8.406 |

You pay the institutional rate if you do not have any of the following nationalities: Dutch or that of another EU/EEA country, Swiss, or Surinamese; or if you do not have a Dutch residence permit that includes entitlement to pay the statutory rate.

\*Transitional institutional rate

- Anyone who has been enrolled as a student at Delft University of Technology for a Master’s degree programme in the academic year 2025-2026 and who paid institutional rate amounting to €22,290, and who has been enrolled continuously since then as a student for the same programme at TU Delft, will be required to pay institutional tuition fees amounting to €23,404 when re-enrolling up to and including 31 August 2028.

Payment Deadlines

Please note! For bridging students of Industrial Design Engineering and Architecture and the Built Environment programme who start on 1 February, the payment deadline is 31 January (23:59 CET).

Payment method

Digital (direct debit) authorisation : Payment through a digital (direct debit) authorisation is only possible from a checking account (not a savings account) with a bank in a SEPA country and only if you do not require any extra services from TU Delft.

‘Extra services’ is defined as:

- Requiring help with your visa or residence permit, or
- Arranging accommodation through TU Delft. This service is only available to international students who do not reside in the Netherlands.

Enter your payment details in Studielink. If you are directed to the payment environment of your bank, then your bank supports the digital (direct debit) authorisation. If you are not directed to the payment environment of your bank, then you should enter your bank account number yourself.

If someone else is paying on your behalf, you can state the fact on Studielink.

**Changing payment details**\
*Changing account number*\
You can change your account number via Studielink. Do this before the 11th of the month to ensure the change can be processed before the next digital (direct debit) payment.

*Changing payment method*\
If you would like to change your payment method, you can do this via Studielink. Please do this before the start of the academic year to ensure it is processed in time.\
Changing the payment method from “one-time” to “instalments” during the current academic year is only possible until October 31.\
After October 31, it will no longer be possible to change the payment method from “one-time” to “instalments” for the current academic year; however, switching from “instalments” to “one-time” will still be allowed.

**Payment in instalments**\
You can use the digital (direct debit) authorisation to pay your tuition fee in nine instalments (see below the dates on which the payments are taken). \
A one-off administration fee of € 24 will be added to the first payment, this fee cannot be reclaimed once the first instalment has been taken. \
**Please note**! Enrolment after 1 September will affect the number of instalments and the amounts taken for each instalment.

Digital (direct debit) payment dates: If you make one single payment, the full amount will be deducted on the first instalment date.

**Problems with direct debits**\
Make sure there are sufficient funds in your account, to enable TU Delft to complete the direct debit. If it has not been possible to take a direct debit payment, you will receive a payment reminder from TU Delft. For more information, please see the [Enrolment and Tuition Fee Regulations](https://www.tudelft.nl/en/about-tu-delft/organisation/regulations/students-and-education).

Other payment methods (bank transfer) : If you cannot or do not want to pay through digital (direct debit) authorisation, you (or someone else) may pay the total amount owing in one single transaction. TU Delft must receive the amount no later than 31 August.\ For first-year students with a non-Dutch educational qualification and students who use TU Delft services, the payment deadline is 1 July. \ Please note: Bank charges may be incurred for payments from a non-Dutch bank account. Make sure the amount you transfer is sufficient.

The total amount payable (including any bank charges) should be transferred to the TU Delft bank account number. \
 IBAN: NL87 ABNA 0539856568 \
 BIC: ABNANL2A \
Name of account holder: Technische Universiteit Delft \
The payment reference should be your student number / your surname

**Please note:** When TU Delft receives a payment by bank transfer that is based on the statutory rate, the student in question will be asked to approve the payment. This is essential for the payment and enrolment process at TU Delft.

Payment via ‘Proof of paid tuition fee’ (known as a ‘BBC’) : Proof of paid tuition fee (BBC) is a document proving you have paid tuition fee at an institution of higher education.

If you are studying at another educational institution and you wish to do a second programme, minor, or elective module at TU Delft, you can pay with a BBC. If the amount on the BBC is less than the TU Delft tuition fee rate, you should pay the difference to TU Delft.

Apply for a BBC via [Studielink](https://www.studielink.nl/) when submitting your enrolment request to TU Delft. For information about applying for a BBC, see the [FAQs](https://www.tudelft.nl/en/student/contact/faqs#/faq/290).
