- Overview
Mechatronic systems are transforming our world, with robots as some of the most impactful examples. These versatile machines enhance efficiency across diverse fields, from manufacturing and agriculture to household tasks and space exploration.
This program guides you through the implementation of a robotic system by integrating key mechatronic modules: electrical drives, sensors and data acquisition, communication, and system integration. Through these courses, you'll gain both essential knowledge and hands-on skills to design and build practical robotic systems.
One of the program's unique features is its use of modular mechatronic educational hardware. This open-source hardware facilitates a systematic approach to designing robotic applications, guiding you through the entire process of mechatronic system integration – from conceptualization and analysis to construction and control.
This program is an initiative of the Erasmus + project GEMS (Graceful Equalizing of Mechatronics Students).
After taking the program, you will be able to:
- Give an overview of the architecture of a robotics system;
- Design and implement a DC motor drive with close loop control for robotics;
- Design sensing applications based on given sensors and integrate them in robotic systems;
- Design, implement, integrate and troubleshoot communication systems in the rapidly evolving fields of robotics and industrial automation;
- Design and implement a robot system by integrating motor drives, sensors, communication protocols and mechanical components.\
