Studying with a disability

TU Delft has a lot of experience in supporting students who have a disability or other issues. In many cases, tailored support and assistance are available for issues ranging from dyslexia and physical disabilities to ADHD and the autism spectrum. The academic counsellors and student counsellors keep up-to-date with the latest developments. It is always up to the individual student to report their disability as early as possible when applying for the degree programme through Studielink.\ More information

Workshops & Training Courses

TU Delft offers a range of workshops on such subjects as time management, accelerated study progress or participation in a Study Buddy project.

TU Delft offers various kinds of support and guidance. As a general rule, it is up to you, the student, to make it clear what your needs are. \ \

Academic counsellors

Every study programme has at least one academic counsellor. The academic counsellor is the first point of contact on issues relating to your degree programme. You can contact the academic counsellor with questions about your degree programme and everything related to it. This ranges from planning your studies and advice to guidance and support in applying for special provisions, financial or otherwise. If you are encountering problems, it is particularly important to contact the academic counsellor swiftly.

All conversations with academic counsellors, university psychologists and student counsellors are strictly confidential.

1st year guidance\ Your fellow students are ready to help you. First-year students can call on their mentor, a senior student who will guide a group of first-year students through the curriculum. You will exchange experiences and discuss any problems. This way, you will quickly feel at home in your new environment and receive help in finding a good study rhythm.

Guidance is provided in groups of approximately 10 students and focuses on study-related questions and information, but also on social activities. The mentor is the first point of contact for students and can refer them to the study advisor or the study association if necessary. This way, new students will feel at home at the faculty more quickly and can exchange experiences. The mentor group for the bachelors is also the group with which you follow the skills components in the first year. So you cannot just switch.

Psychologen

The psychologists at TU Delft offer help to students with problems that are hindering good study progress. Both on an individual basis and in groups.

Student deans\ The student deans of TU Delft are available to all TU Delft students in a wide range of areas of interest. From choosing a study (again) to supporting, for example, top athletes and students with a disability or chronic illness. But also regulations regarding your study, such as enrolment and deregistration, scholarships and financial support

All conversations with study supervisors, student psychologists and student deans are strictly confidential.
