Please note that NYU will not be accepting DoD Cyber Scholarship Program applications for the 2025-26 academic year. Check this page again for any updates regarding participation in future academic years.

“The Department of Defense (DoD) Cyber Scholarship Program (CySP) is authorized by Chapter 112 of title 10, United States Code, Section 2200. The purpose of the program is to support the recruitment of new cyber talent and the retention of current highly skilled professionals within the DoD cyber workforce. Additionally, this program serves to enhance the national pipeline for the development of cyber personnel by providing grants to institutions of higher education” – DoD Cyber Scholarship Solicitation

Undergraduate – full tuition, $27,000 stipend + more \ Graduate – full tuition, $32,000 stipend + more \ \ All applications are due by February 1st, 2023.

To be eligible for the DoD Cyber Security Scholarship you must:

— Be 18 years of age or older

— Be a citizen of the United States at the time of application to the DoD Cyber Scholarship program. Note, if family members are not U.S. Citizens, some DoD Agencies may be unable to process the applicant (student) to the security clearance level required. Every effort will be made to assign eligible students to an Agency without such restrictions.

— Be enrolled (or have applied for admission) as a full-time student in a degree program offered at either the NYU Tandon campus or at the NYU Washington Square campus.

— Have completed (or by August 2023 will have completed) at a minimum the first two years of an undergraduate degree program and be eligible to (a) begin either the third or fourth year of an undergraduate degree program; (b) begin the first or second year of a Master’s degree program; or (c) pursue doctoral studies

— Current GPA at the point of application must be a 3.2 or higher for Undergraduate students and a 3.5 or higher for Graduate students

Deadline to apply for the DoD Scholarship at NYU is February 1, 2023 at 11:59PM ET.
