What is MakerGarage?

Source: https://makerspace.engineering.nyu.edu/makergarage/ Parent: https://makerspace.engineering.nyu.edu/funding/prototypingfund/

The Clocktower Building, a 1920s cast-concrete edifice in Downtown Brooklyn, possesses an undeniable character-filled charm — some would say much like the borough itself. It’s a fitting home for NYU Tandon’s newest facility, the MakerGarage.

The MakerGarage is a much-welcome MakerSpace addition, particularly for participants in Tandon’s Vertically Integrated Projects (VIP) program, which allows students to choose a hands-on project and work on it throughout much of their academic careers, & Mechanical Engineering Senior Design, in which graduating seniors work on a semester long project.

Location: 325 Gold St, 2nd Floor, Brooklyn, NY 11201

PLEASE NOTE: if you need to use the MakerGarage during closed hours, please reach out to the MakerSpace at tandon-makerspace@nyu.edu. We will do our best to accommodate requests, but they must be made one week in advance.

Training is required to use the MakerGarage tools, once trained there is no need for reservations you are welcome to use the space during open hours and under the supervision of a MakerSpace student worker.
