Full-time study load
Discipline-focused study (including MBA at the School of Management):
4 courses per semester at Fudan University is equivalent to 8 UQ units.
Chinese Language Program (depends on the level):
18-22 class hours per week for 16 weeks (approx 288 - 352 hours) is equivalent to 8 UQ units.
Host university requirements
GPA\ You will need a minimum cumulative GPA of 5.25 to study at Fudan University (as General Advanced Student or Senior Advanced Student).
To study the full-time Chinese language program at Fudan University, you will need a minimum cumulative GPA of 4.5.
Language\ Students looking to study courses taught in Chinese must have a new HSK band 6 (score above 220) language skills or above.
Study Options\ Only studying the Chinese language is possible at Fudan currently. Further details are outlined in the Additional Academic Information section below.
Other Requirements\ Fudan can host students from China, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, but these students will NOT have access to on-campus housing.

- Offering courses from the following programs: Fudan IMBA, Fudan-HKU IMBA, Fudan-BI MBA, Fudan-LBS Global Masters.
- Only available to current MBA students.
- Some MBA programs require work experience, such as Fudan-HKU IMBA and Fudan-BI MBA, and students need to have at least 4 years of work experience (internship, part-time, or full-time).
- Only 1 place in this program is available each semester.
- Courses in the Fudan MBA program are taught in Chinese.
- Exchange students are able to choose electives from the MBA English programs, including Fudan International MBA, Fudan-HKU MBA, Fudan-BI MBA, and Fudan-LBS Global Masters.
- Students must have attended at least 70% of classes to be eligible for the final exams.
- Chinese nationals (including Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan) will not be accepted by the Fudan School of Management, unless they have been away from their home country for more than 6 years.
Additional academic information
Study Option Details\ You must choose one of four study options listed below:
1. Chinese Language Students- could ONLY take Chinese Language courses (no other regular courses);
- Students will be enrolled in a series of courses in Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing available at 10 levels from A (beginner) to J (advanced).
- Couse details (please scroll down to the "Language Student" section; or download and view the course detail of A-B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, and J language classes).
- Students will need to choose two levels of language class per semester to attend at Fudan (eg: A-B, C-D, E-F, G-H, I-J).
2. *Not available at this time* General Advanced Students - could take undergraduate-levelcourses, plus a maximum of ONE Chinese Language course as an option.
- Chinese Language courses are available at 3 levels: Elementary, Intermediate, and Advanced (no English version course syllabus available for Advanced level).
3. *Not available at this time* Senior Advanced Students- could take postgraduate-levelcourses, plus available Chinese Language courses if applicable.

Accommodation
Students can apply for accommodation in Fudan’s Foreign Students Dormitory. Places in the dormitory are limited. The International Students Office provides information regarding room options and reservations.
Cost of living
The cost of living in Shanghai can be expensive. There are guides available to help students prepare their budget for their exchange.
Financial support
A range of funding for student exchange including scholarships, grants and loans are available to UQ students.
Students are encouraged to check their eligibility for scholarships available at Fudan University.
Insurance
Students approved to participate in a Semester-based Exchange are automatically covered by UQ’s Travel Insurance for the country of their host university only.

If you plan to travel outside of your host country, you should purchase additional insurance.
The Chinese government requires international students to purchase health insurance from their host university. More information is available in Fudan’s Handbook of Visa and Accommodation Information.

Organise your visa

Travel risk levels
The University of Queensland cannot and does not allow students to travel to any country with a risk level of 3 (Reconsider your need to travel) or above, as assessed by the Australian Government.
If a country's risk level changes to 3 or above, experiences to that country are suspended until the risk level improves.
