Orientation, also known as O-Week, is the official start to university for new students and is held the week before classes start. We encourage you to attend your compulsory Faculty orientation during O-Week.
### What to expect
You will:
- receive a welcome pack
- meet other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students studying at UQ
- meet ATSISU staff and your Student Success team.
- have the opportunity to sign-up for our free tutoring program, ITAR
- learn about scholarships, financial support and other important programs.
- learn useful study tips and tricks
- meet our Student Collective group: Goorie Berrimpa.
### Getting Started appointments
ATSISU is also offering new students a chance to register for a one-to-one ‘Getting Started’ appointment with a member of our Student Success team during O-Week and the first week of the semester.
[Book an appointment](https://appt.link/meet-with-someone-from-student-success-team) for an introduction to all that the ATSIS Unit has to offer and for help on your learning journey. Appointments are available in-person or online.
