Exam sessions

UQ offers professional exam supervision (invigilation) services to external students of domestic and international institutions for written (paper) exams and Bring Your Own Device * (BYOD) exams.\ * Conditions apply for BYOD exams, contact us for more information.

Exam supervision services are offered at the St Lucia campus (for students based in Brisbane) and Gatton campus (for students based west of Brisbane), Monday to Friday only, excluding weekends and public holidays.

Session times

UQ offers two exam sessions a day:

Morning session

Afternoon session

Students must contact examinations@uq.edu.au at least seven days prior to their exam for confirmation of venue details.

Costs

A fee of $320 (GST inclusive) is charged per student for a 2-hour exam*, plus $100 for each extra hour (or part thereof), plus courier costs where applicable.

The fee covers exam supervision, room hire and associated administrative costs. Fees can be paid either by the institution or the student. Institutions will be invoiced after the exam.

Students required to pay for their exam can do so online prior to the exam date. An online payment link will be emailed to students upon confirmation of the booking.

*There will be a $20 courier charge if an Institution requires the exam script returned via courier and  a pre-paid return envelope or courier satchel is not provided.

Requesting an exam at UQ

All exam requests should be received no later than three weeks before the exam.

Institutions must submit the exam request online using login details provided by the UQ Examinations Office. If you require a login, please contact us.

Delivery of exam papers to UQ

All exam papers should come with return postage – i.e. prepaid self-addressed courier satchels or Australia Post self-addressed Express Post envelopes. UQ’s postal address details will be provided upon approval and confirmation of being able to host your exam(s).
