One of Australia’s finest collections of medical material heritage.
What's on
Including Queensland’s first x-ray machine, a ~100-year-old embalming pump and gastroscope, our current exhibitions present rarely seen medical equipment from a different time.
Our collection
We have over 8,000 objects – all with a story to tell. In medical history, these stories are often a thrilling blend of terror, hope, skill and beauty.
Plan your visit
Free and open to the public, the museum is located in the historic Mayne Medical School Building in Herston. We’re open 8:30am–4:30pm daily. Explore the displays yourself, or book a tour.
Get involved
We’re always looking for students and volunteers to help share our collection with the public.
Donate
We’re grateful for donations that support the ongoing operation of the museum, and medical equipment of historical significance.
