In honours I had more freedom and so much to learn. The year made me fall in love with research and become really passionate and interested in my thesis topic about youth homelessness policies in Australia.

Ella Kuskoff

Graduate, Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Sociology and Linguistics

While studying, the UQ Art Museum allowed me to gain practical skills. That, combined with my degree, led me to my first role in Australia’s leading commercial gallery and a career that I am deeply passionate about.

Nicholas Smith

Graduate, Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Art History

I had so many opportunities because of my honours, including archaeological field work, teaching and research in academia. I've travelled overseas to excavate in the Cradle of Humankind in South Africa and also went to the Natural History Museum in London...

Maddy Green

Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Archaeology

The absolute highlight of my program was being awarded the Osiecki Honours Scholarship, which enabled me to take part in an internship program overseas at the University of Sienna. This experience was incredibly rewarding.

Jessica Zelli

Graduate, Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Classics and Ancient History

The link between international relations and DFAT is a clear one, but I believe the skills I gained through my honours year made me a competitive applicant... I cannot overemphasise just how highly valued these skills are by employers.
