The University of Bath is firmly established as a Top 10 UK university with a reputation for research and teaching excellence.

The campus overlooks the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage City of Bath. Students enjoy a vibrant life here with plenty of things to see and do. There are numerous restaurants, cafés, pubs and bars and a great range of excellent museums and galleries. The city also has fantastic transport links. Bristol International Airport, serving over 100 destinations, is easy to get to and less than 20 miles away. Plus, Bath is only 1.5 hours by train from London.

30 ECTS at Bath is equivalent to 8 UQ units.

Host university requirements

Language\ Students whose native language is not English and who require a visa to attend the University of Bath will be required to provide a current English Language test certificate, meeting Bath’s minimum requirements.

Study Options\ You must choose one admission faculty from the Bath School of Management, Department of Economics, and the Department of Chemical Engineering. More details are provided in "additional academic information" below.

Bath School of Management have specific course lists under their Unit lists divided in semesters.

Crosscheck the courses you found in the host course catalogue with the Credit Precedent Database to see if UQ credit has previously been granted. The database should be used as a general guide only. Few courses from each host will be in the database and many course precedents in the database may have expired. Note, the credit precedent database does not replace the host course catalogue. If a course is not listed in the CPD, you can still ask for it to be assessed on your study plan.

Academic restrictions

Study Load Restrictions\ Students are unable to enrol in a full-time study load in the following disciplines, however, enrolment in one or two courses may be possible:

Disciplines/Faculties Restrictions\ Students nominated to Bath's Faculty of Science are not allowed to take courses taught within Accounting & Finance, Architecture, Business Administration or Mechanical Engineering.

Additional academic information

Study Option Details\ Stundets must choose one admission faculty/department from the list below and take the majority of courses from within the admission faculty/department:

You may take a maximum of two courses from other departments, subject to meeting prerequisites, space availability and approval by the unit director.

Science students are not allowed to take courses taught in Accounting & Finance, Architecture, Business Administration or Mechanical Engineering.

Accommodation

Bath offers a limited number of places for exchange and visiting students in their residences. The two choices of accommodation that are designated for our visiting students are: Pulteney Court and Thornbank Gardens. \ If you are unable to aquire accommodation in university halls, Bath's Reslife team provide support to students to find grivate accommodation around Bath.

Cost of living

The University of Bath has considerations to help plan your budget that students are likely to encounter while on exchange.

The Which? Student Budget Calculator is also a useful tool to help you create a budget and manage your finances while studying in the UK.

Financial support

A range of funding for student exchange including scholarships, grants and loans are available to UQ students.

Students studying at Bath can apply for a scholarship through BUTEX. BUTEX offers a number of £500 scholarships to students studying on exchange at member institutions.

Insurance

Students approved to participate in a Semester-based Exchange are automatically covered by UQ’s Travel Insurance for the country of their host university only.

If you plan to travel outside of your host country, you should purchase additional insurance.

Organise your visa

It is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct visa for the country where you will be studying. As the Global Experiences team is not a visa-issuing authority we cannot provide visa advice.

Bath provides visa and immigration information for international students.

Contact the British High Commission for more visa information.

Travel risk levels

The University of Queensland cannot and does not allow students to travel to any country with a risk level of 3 (Reconsider your need to travel) or above, as assessed by the Australian Government.

If a country's risk level changes to 3 or above, experiences to that country are suspended until the risk level improves.
