The University of Bath is firmly established as a Top 10 UK university with a reputation for research and teaching excellence.
The campus overlooks the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage City of Bath. Students enjoy a vibrant life here with plenty of things to see and do. There are numerous restaurants, cafés, pubs and bars and a great range of excellent museums and galleries. The city also has fantastic transport links. Bristol International Airport, serving over 100 destinations, is easy to get to and less than 20 miles away. Plus, Bath is only 1.5 hours by train from London.

Full-time study load
30 ECTS at Bath is equivalent to 8 UQ units.
Host university requirements
GPA
- You will need a minimum cumulative GPA of 4.5 to study in Bath's School of Management.
- You will need a minimum cumulative GPA of 5.5 to study in Bath's Department of Economics.
- You will need a minimum cumulative GPA of 5.0 to study in all other departments/schools at Bath
Language\ Students whose native language is not English and who require a visa to attend the University of Bath will be required to provide a current English Language test certificate, meeting Bath’s minimum requirements.
Study Options\ You must choose one admission faculty from the Bath School of Management, Department of Economics, and the Department of Chemical Engineering. More details are provided in "additional academic information" below.
Semester Restrictions
- Students wishing to study for a full year at Bath must commence their exchange in UQ Semester 2, in order to follow the UK academic year.
Other Restrictions\ Students are only eligible for Bath if they are enrolled at UQ in an undergraduate degree taught by:
- UQ Faculty of Business, Economics and Law (BEL)
- UQ School of Chemical Engineering

Bath School of Management have specific course lists under their Unit lists divided in semesters.
Crosscheck the courses you found in the host course catalogue with the Credit Precedent Database to see if UQ credit has previously been granted. The database should be used as a general guide only. Few courses from each host will be in the database and many course precedents in the database may have expired. Note, the credit precedent database does not replace the host course catalogue. If a course is not listed in the CPD, you can still ask for it to be assessed on your study plan.

Additional academic information
Study Option Details\ Stundets must choose one admission faculty/department from the list below and take the majority of courses from within the admission faculty/department:
- Bath School of Management
- Bath Department of Economics
- Bath Department of Chemical Engineering
You may take a maximum of two courses from other departments, subject to meeting prerequisites, space availability and approval by the unit director.
- Students admitted to the School of Management are likely (though not guaranteed) to be able to enrol in Economics courses
- Students should not rely on gaining enrolment in specific School of Management courses if admitted to another department/faculty.
Science students are not allowed to take courses taught in Accounting & Finance, Architecture, Business Administration or Mechanical Engineering.
Course FHEQ Levels:\ Courses at Bath are associated with a FHEQ level. You are only permitted to take courses per the below rules:
- School of Management: You can select courses FHEQ level 5-6
- All other schools/departments: You can select courses FHEQ level 4-6
Course Numbering\ The first number in the course code refers to the teaching level at Bath:
- 0 pre-degree level
- 1 First year
- 2 Second year
- 3 Third year including honours
- 4 Masters (also available to undergraduate students)
- 5-6 restricted to postgraduate students.

Accommodation
Bath offers a limited number of places for exchange and visiting students in their residences. The two choices of accommodation that are designated for our visiting students are: Pulteney Court and Thornbank Gardens. \ If you are unable to aquire accommodation in university halls, Bath's Reslife team provide support to students to find grivate accommodation around Bath.
Cost of living
The University of Bath has considerations to help plan your budget that students are likely to encounter while on exchange.

Financial support
A range of funding for student exchange including scholarships, grants and loans are available to UQ students.
Students studying at Bath can apply for a scholarship through BUTEX. BUTEX offers a number of £500 scholarships to students studying on exchange at member institutions.
Insurance
Students approved to participate in a Semester-based Exchange are automatically covered by UQ’s Travel Insurance for the country of their host university only.

Organise your visa
It is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct visa for the country where you will be studying. As the Global Experiences team is not a visa-issuing authority we cannot provide visa advice.

Travel risk levels
The University of Queensland cannot and does not allow students to travel to any country with a risk level of 3 (Reconsider your need to travel) or above, as assessed by the Australian Government.
If a country's risk level changes to 3 or above, experiences to that country are suspended until the risk level improves.
