## Full-time study load

15 AU per semester at NTU is equivalent to 8 UQ units.

## Host university requirements

**GPA**\
You will need a minimum cumulative GPA of 5.0 to study at NTU.

**Study Options**\
You must choose one admission school from the list of faculties below and take the majority of courses (50%) within the chosen faculty. Further details are outlined in the Additional Academic Information section below.

**Other requirements:**\
BEL Faculty (Business) students are required to have at least 4 units of General Elective credit to study at NTU due to difficulty in course enrolment.

**Note**:

- Please read the *'Accommodation and costs'* tab for information on mandatory fees at NTU.
- Host university eligibility criteria are at the discretion of the host and may change without notice.

## Find courses

Undergraduate students can search the:

- [NTU course catalogue](https://ntu-sa.terradotta.com/index.cfm?FuseAction=Programs.ViewProgramAngular&id=10006)
- Nanyang Business School (NBS) [Restricted programs](https://gem.ntu.edu.sg/_customtags/ct_DocumentRetrieve.cfm?token=eyJ0eXAiOiJKV1QiLCJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJwYXlsb2FkIjp7InRpbWVzdGFtcCI6IjIwMjItMDktMzBUMDU6NTc6NTIiLCJleHBpcmVMaW5rIjpmYWxzZSwiZmlsZUlkIjo0Mjg5MH19.BK8ZIaVIptHirlaPXIcVrCF2hlSRke5Bl2DLv_1BRrA)- Courses in red are not open to exchange students.
- Please read the *Academic Restrictions* section below for further information.

Crosscheck the courses you found in the host course catalogue with the [Credit Precedent Database](http://creditprecedents.app.uq.edu.au/) to see if UQ credit has previously been granted. The database should be used as a general guide only. Few courses from each host will be in the database and many course precedents in the database may have expired. Note, the credit precedent database does not replace the host course catalogue. If a course is not listed in the CPD, you can still ask for it to be assessed on your study plan.

Postgraduate exchange students are invited to apply and will be placed on-campus if there are available rooms. The Office of Housing can also help students search for [off-campus accommodation](https://www.ntu.edu.sg/life-at-ntu/accommodation/off-campus-housing).

Students who are successful will be allocated randomly for hall rooms and requests for specific types of rooms will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Full-year students must re-apply for housing in their second semester.

## Cost of living

NTU estimates SGD 7000 per semester for costs such as accommodation, food, transportation, personal expenses, textbooks etc. Some additional administration and non-academic fees may be required or possible additional fees if students enrol in course units involving the use of specific materials (E.g. laboratory fees and fieldwork courses).

## Additional Mandatory Fees

*Registration Fee:* Starting from AY24/25, NTU will charge non-refundable registration fee of S$153 (inclusive of GST), payable by all exchange applicants at the point of application. This fee is in addition to the existing miscellaneous fees and helps to cover the cost of providing administrative/onboarding support and social activities for inbound exchange students during the period of their immersion at NTU.

## Financial support

[A range of funding](https://employability.uq.edu.au/financial-support) for student exchange including scholarships, grants and loans are available to UQ students.

## Insurance

*Singapore Covid-19 Vaccination Requirements:* While there are no longer any COVID-19 entry requirements for Singapore, it remains a requirement of all Student's Pass (STP) holders *(Exchange students)* to be fully vaccinated with the approved COVID-19 vaccinations. Furthermore, students must have their overseas vaccinations validated upon arrival in Singapore, making it advisable to obtain digitally verifiable vaccination certificates.

Students approved to participate in a Semester-based Exchange are automatically covered by UQ’s Travel Insurance for the country of their host university only.

For more information, read the Student Travel Insurance Policy Summary on [UQ’s Travel Insurance web page](https://governance-risk.uq.edu.au/functions-and-services/insurance/policies-and-certificates-currency/travel-insurance) (login required).

If you plan to travel outside of your host country, you should purchase additional insurance.

All inbound exchange students are required to be insured under [NTU’s insurance schemes](https://www.ntu.edu.sg/life-at-ntu/student-life/onestop/insurance-coverage). The schemes ensure students are covered with basic medical and personal accident insurance coverage.

If a country's risk level changes to 3 or above, experiences to that country are suspended until the risk level improves.

Find out the risk level and travel advice, and sign up to receive updates for your host country on the [Smartraveller website](http://smartraveller.gov.au/Pages/default.aspx).
