  > If you are interested in leadership or entreprenurship, this program can't be missed.

## Full-time study load

Discipline-focus study: 12–15 credits per semester at SJTU is equivalent to 8 UQ units.

Students participating in the Chinese Language Program will need to complete at least 8 lecture hours per week.

## Host university requirements

**GPA**\
You will need a minimum cumulative GPA of 5.0 to study at SJTU.

**Language**\
Students are required to have HSK Level 5 above to attend regular undergraduate courses taught in Chinese.

**Study Options**\
Not applicable to this university. However, you will usually be expected to take the majority of courses (60%) within a single school. \
Courses offered in SJTU Global College are open to exchange students. Students will still need flexibility of course enrolments.

**Other Restrictions**\
**Course Flexibility:** You must have a full study load of UQ electives (General Electives) if you wish to study at SHJT due to course profile access restrictions.

**Other Requirements**

- **Nationality**: Exchange applicants at SJTU must be non-Chinese citizens, but SJTU has a special channel for students from Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao. Those students won't be considered as international students at SJTU.
- **Campuses**: SJTU has two campuses available to exchange students: Minhang and Xuhui, which are about one hour travel from each other. It is strongly recommended students only select courses from one campus.

**Note**: Host university eligibility criteria are at the discretion of the host and may change without notice.

## Find courses

The SJTU course catalogue can be downloaded from the SJTU website [here](https://global.sjtu.edu.cn/en/study-sjtu/prospective/non-degree-programs/281). Please note, students will need great flexibility to be able to study at SJTU due to the lack of access to syllabis.

Please refer to the "Additional academic information" section for Chinese Language Program course info and Law course info.

Crosscheck the courses you found in the host course catalogue with the [Credit Precedent Database](http://creditprecedents.app.uq.edu.au/) to see if UQ credit has previously been granted. The database should be used as a general guide only. Few courses from each host will be in the database and many course precedents in the database may have expired. Note, the credit precedent database does not replace the host course catalogue. If a course is not listed in the CPD, you can still ask for it to be assessed on your study plan.

If a country's risk level changes to 3 or above, experiences to that country are suspended until the risk level improves.

Find out the risk level and travel advice, and sign up to receive updates for your host country on the [Smartraveller website](http://smartraveller.gov.au/Pages/default.aspx).
