\ \ BEL Career Mentoring Program **\ The BEL Career Mentoring Program (CMP) fosters professional growth, belonging, and community at UQ. Through targeted industry connections and purposeful student engagement, the program enhances employability and career confidence for UQ Business, Economics, and Law (BEL) students.  Grounded in the guiding values of Empower, Connect, and Inspire, this program goes beyond mentor matching, it builds a thriving community that supports students as they move through and beyond their studies.\ \ What is career mentoring?**\ Career mentoring is a one-to-one relationship in which an experienced professional voluntarily offers their knowledge, insight and encouragement to facilitate the learning and development of a current student. A good career mentoring relationship is professional and equal, recognising that both mentor and mentee can grow from the experience. A mentor does not guarantee success and will often play contradictory roles – sometimes offering advice and support, at other times posing challenging questions and sharing critical thoughts.
