Boost Month is all about helping you practice self-care, take care of your wellbeing, and stay motivated.

Running from 7 April to 2 May, we have designed a program to give you the energy and focus you need to finish the semester strong.

Boost Challenge

From 9am on 7 April to 6pm on 2 May, complete 9 simple tasks designed to boost both your mental and physical health. Whether you're feeling burnt out or just need a quick refresh, this is your opportunity to hit reset, practice self-care, and prioritise your well-being.

Complete the challenge and you’ll be entered into the draw to win a wellness prize pack, including a $50 Gift Card!

It will also show you how to cite correctly and combine ideas from multiple sources in your academic writing. Register
Drop-in Writing Support: Bring Your Draft Thursday 10th April 1pm – 2pm Research consultation room 12A - L103 Central Library, St Lucia This is a chance to ask questions about your assignment task or a particular aspect of your draft assignment. Please bring a copy of the task or your draft assignment with you. Register
Boost Your Study Fitness Workshop Wednesday 30th April 12pm – 12:50pm Via Zoom Do you feel like your study plan could do with a refresh, as you head into final weeks of semester? Are you struggling to motivate yourself to work on your assignments or study for exams? If so, come along to this workshop and discover the steps you can take to become 'Study Fit', and set yourself up for academic success. Register
Studying Effectively at University Wednesday 30th April 3pm – 4pm Via Zoom Join this workshop to learn strategies that will help you to study effectively throughout the semester, and to prepare well for end of semester exams. Register

Mindfulness Inside and Out Walking Meditation Available anytime via online audio guide N/A Audio guides available for St Lucia and Gatton campuses UQ Counselling's Mindfulness Inside and Out Walking Meditations invite you to take some time for yourself, practice mindfulness and destress while on campus. Join UQ Counsellors Yasuyo and Letitia for guided meditations  Listen as UQ Counsellors Yasuyo and Letitia guide you through a meditative walk across the St Lucia or Gatton campus via fifteen minute audio tracks. Chair Yoga for Energy, Focus & Stress Relief Wednesday 30 April 1pm - 2pm Mary Mahoney AO Amphitheatre, St Lucia Join UQ Wellbeing for a feel-good chair yoga session with  Chair Yogis. The session is designed to help you reset your body and mind with simple movement, calming breathwork, and a short guided meditation. Come along to this interactive one-hour session, via face to face or zoom. Explore how staying connected to the things that matter the most to you can build your growth mindset, support your motivation and help you to get to the end of this semester successfully. Strategies to Manage Neurodivergent (ADHD) Burnout Wednesday 16th April 10am – 11:30am Workshop B As part of Boost Month, this workshop is about helping you manage neurodivergent (ADHD) burnout and recharge your reserves, so you can finish the semester feeling in control. Learn practical, neurodivergent-friendly strategies to minimise burnout, stay motivated, and boost your well-being. Plus, stick around for some delicious snacks! Register
Mindfulness Inside and Out Workshop Tuesday 8th April, Tuesday 15th April, Tuesday 22nd April, Tuesday 29th April 1pm – 2:15pm Workshop B Uni life can be busy and stressful. But did you know that you can reduce that pressure simply by taking a moment to stop and focus on the present? Mindfulness is about connecting with your immediate thoughts and feelings without judging them. You can practise mindfulness anywhere by taking a deep breath, then opening up your focus to what's happening in that moment – both in the world around you and in your mind. This group is open to all who seek to practice and bring small mindful changes to the daily routine. Register
Art for Wellbeing Workshop Thursday 10th April, Thursday 17th April, Thursday 1st May 11am – 1pm Workshop B This group provides a safe and supportive space for students to express themselves through art. Register
Pushing Past Performance Anxiety Thursday 10th April, Thursday 17th April, Thursday 1st May 3pm-4:30pm Workshop B Safely face the anxiety that feels like it is undermining your best self with practical guidance and support in this workshop facilitated by UQ Counsellors. Register
Sharper Minds: Self-paced modules Anytime Anytime Online Take some time for yourself and complete online modules designed to help you increase your health and self-care behaviours in 6 domains: study strategies, mood, physical activity, healthy eating, sleep, and social connection. Find out more
Sharper Minds: Healthy Eating (Session 1) Tuesday 29 April 12pm - 1pm Human Performance Laboratories (26A), St Lucia Do you know which foods and nutrients help your brain function optimally and keep you healthy for study and life throughout the semester? The Food for the Brain course is an evidence-informed, 4-session course that teaches practical skills for shopping, managing your budget in relation to food, cooking, and eating well while studying at University.  Sharper Minds courses are co-designed by UQ students, academics, and researchers, offering preventative health and self-care strategies for student success. Sharper Minds: GRUNT (Session 1) Wednesday 30 April 3pm - 3:45pm TBC This evidenced-based 4-session weekly group course begins by teaching you about the mind-body connection and how to stay within the present moment by learning to - breathe - ground, - centre - focus to increase your self-, body-, and emotional awareness - build your strengths with mindfulness and other mood regulation strategies for better wellbeing. Sharper Minds: Social Connection Groups 4 Education (Session 1) Wednesday 30 April 4:15pm - 5pm TBC Groups 4 Education is an evidence-based 5-session course that teaches you how to develop a sense of belonging and connection to others. Positive social connections help you to think, communicate, and learn. In the sessions, you will do some online activities, and be led through discussions about key issues, such as: - the importance of connection and belonging - how to manage your connections - how to adapt your connections to be more aligned with what is important to you and your university goals.
ADHD Group Coaching Every Monday and Wednesday (week 1 - 13) Check registration details Workshop B Receive ADHD-specific coaching. Participate in discussions and explore effective methods to manage studies. Please note: you do not need a formal ADHD diagnosis to participate in Coaching. Self-Guided Friendship Bracelet Making Gatton Thursday 1 May 12:30pm – 2:30pm Gatton Auditorium, Gatton Library Drop in and craft your own colourful friendship bracelet—perfect to wear or share! All materials provided, no experience needed.
Morning Marmalade and Kampus Kitchen Various Various Various Brought to you by your student union, Morning Marmalade & Kampus Kitchen are welfare initiatives providing free breakfasts and dinners to UQ students across campuses. This initiative is here throughout the semester to support you whilst you are studying: be sure to have your student ID handy to scan so you can grab your free meal!
