The [Study Guide Manual](https://filelist.tudelft.nl/TUDelft/Onderwijs/Toelating_en_aanmelding/Exchange/updated_files/Digital_studyguide_versie_voor_2015%20VERSIE%20mkc%208feb2025.pdf) will help you navigate the course catalogue.

.Students wishing to study within the Faculty of Architecture and Built Environment must choose their programme from a list of [fixed course packages](https://www.tudelft.nl/en/architecture-and-the-built-environment/study/exchange-programme/) offered by the faculty.

Crosscheck the courses you found in the host course catalogue with the [Credit Precedent Database](http://creditprecedents.app.uq.edu.au/) to see if UQ credit has previously been granted. The database should be used as a general guide only. Few courses from each host will be in the database and many course precedents in the database may have expired. ## Accommodation

TU Delft collaborates with various housing agencies in the greater Delft region to offer incoming international students help in finding accommodation. TU Delft's housing services are available to students for a fee. TU Delft cannot guarantee housing due to increased demand.

Students can choose to use the University's [housing services or find their own private accommodation](https://www.tudelft.nl/en/education/study-programme-orientation/practical-matters/housing).

## Cost of living

Many places in Holland offer discounts to students, which can help lower your daily expenses. Study in Holland provides an insight into [the cost of living in the Netherlands](https://www.studyinholland.nl/finances/daily-student-expenses-and-cost-of-living-in-holland).

Note that students who apply through TU Delft for the [Dutch student visa and residency permit](https://www.tudelft.nl/onderwijs/studievoorlichting/praktische-zaken/visum-verblijfsvergunning) will be charged a non-refundable fee.

**Proof of finances:**\
Accepted students will asked to provide proof of financial solvability/proof of financial means to cover their living costs.  This is required to obtain a visa and to apply for housing through the TU Delft housing service. TU Delft's preferred method of proving financial solvability is by bank transfer, however students may also provide proof of solvability with a bank statement. Some students have been caught off-guard by this in the past, so please take this into consideration if considering TU Delft.

## Financial support

[A range of funding](https://employability.uq.edu.au/financial-support) for student exchange including scholarships, grants and loans are available to UQ students.

TU Delft offers a number of scholarships to postgraduate students. View the [TU Delft Scholarships web page](https://www.tudelft.nl/en/education/practical-matters/scholarships/) to check your eligibility and find out about the application process.

## Insurance

Students approved to participate in a Semester-based Exchange are automatically covered by UQ’s Travel Insurance for the country of their host university only.

For more information, read the Student Travel Insurance Policy Summary on [UQ’s Travel Insurance web page](https://governance-risk.uq.edu.au/functions-and-services/insurance/policies-and-certificates-currency/travel-insurance) (login required).

If you plan to travel outside of your host country, you should purchase additional insurance.

Non-EU residents need to meet the [requirements for insurance](https://www.tudelft.nl/onderwijs/studievoorlichting/praktische-zaken/zorg-en-zorgverzekering) determined by the Dutch Immigration and Naturalization Service in order to receive a residence permit.

TU Delft has [visa and immigration information](https://www.tudelft.nl/en/education/practical-matters/visa-residence-permit/) for incoming exchange students.

Contact the [Dutch Embassy or Consulates](https://www.netherlandsandyou.nl/travel-and-residence/visas-for-the-netherlands) for more visa information.

## Travel risk levels

If a country's risk level changes to 3 or above, experiences to that country are suspended until the risk level improves.

Find out the risk level and travel advice, and sign up to receive updates for your host country on the [Smartraveller website](http://smartraveller.gov.au/Pages/default.aspx).
