Lund University gives students the chance to experience an education from Sweden's top-ranked university and one of Scandinavia’s largest and oldest universities. Ranked among the Top 100 in the world, LU also offers one of the broadest ranges of programmes and courses in Scandinavia, based on cross-disciplinary and cutting-edge research.

The city of Lund is in southern Sweden, close to Malmö. This part of the country is very close to Denmark and Germany, just 40 minutes by train from Copenhagen. Lund is a study destination without the language barrier - English is widely spoken here (90 per cent of Swedes are fluent).

- Must not enrol in more than 15 ECTS per "quarter" - 2 "quarters" per semester.

## Host university requirements

**GPA**\
You will need a minimum cumulative GPA of 4.5 to study at LU.

**Language**\
Students wishing to take courses taught in Swedish will require Swedish proficiency of [B2 or C1 CERF](https://gostudylink.net/en/support/levels) (depending on course) or equivalent

**Study Options**\
Not applicable to this university. However, you will usually be expected to take the majority of courses (50%) within a single faculty.

**Other Requirements**

- **Engineering**: You are required to have completed 2 years (32 units) of engineering before commencing the exchange at Lund.
- **Law**: You should have completed 2.5 years (40 units) of law-specific courses.

**Note**: Host university eligibility criteria are at the discretion of the host and may change without notice.

## Find courses

Search the [LU course catalogue](http://www.lunduniversity.lu.se/international-admissions/exchange-study-abroad/exchange-studies/find-exchange-courses).

Lund University also offers [special area studies](http://www.lunduniversity.lu.se/international-admissions/exchange-study-abroad/exchange-studies/special-area-studies) for international students.

Crosscheck the courses you found in the host course catalogue with the [Credit Precedent Database](http://creditprecedents.app.uq.edu.au/) to see if UQ credit has previously been granted. The database should be used as a general guide only. Few courses from each host will be in the database and many course precedents in the database may have expired. Note, the credit precedent database does not replace the host course catalogue. If a course is not listed in the CPD, you can still ask for it to be assessed on your study plan.

## Cost of living

Your living cost in Sweden will depend on your individual lifestyle. LU recommends budgeting around SEK 9000 per month. A breakdown of living expenses is available on [LU's money and living costs webpage](http://www.lunduniversity.lu.se/student-life/preparing-to-come/money-and-living-costs).

If a country's risk level changes to 3 or above, experiences to that country are suspended until the risk level improves.
