A Kind Reminder to All New International Students of Shanghai Jiao Tong University

Dear new international students of Shanghai Jiao Tong University,
Welcome to Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) where your new journey begins.
We want to inform you that after taking into account the current situation of Covid-19 and prevention instructions issued by the Chinese government at different levels, the university has decided that the arrangement for the autumn semester registration of new students remains as scheduled.
Considering any public health uncertainties with intensive domestic travelling during new semester registration period, for all new international students who are in China now, here are some important preparation tips before arriving at campus.
1. Please take all necessary measures to secure your personal safety and health，avoid large gatherings or unnecessary travelling, and keep social distance in the public. Before on-site registration at campus，please keep close watch on your personal health for at least 14 days.
2. Please pay close attention to the updated prevention instructions issued by the Chinese governments at different levels and health authorities, avoid any travels to the announced middle or high risk areas. Please also note down all traveling records, including but not limited to your flight number, train number and other transportation information, in case you need to report relevant information in the future due to pandemic control needs.
3. If you are in middle or high risk areas in China now, please defer your travel to Shanghai until the area is announced as a low risk area. For new international students who cannot register on-site due to the pandemic situation, please follow related instructions to register online and study online.
4. New students are advised not to come to SJTU in advance for registration. For urgency, please contact your school or department as soon as possible.
