The 2nd International Conference on Carbon Neutrality (ICCN-2025, https://iccn.sjtu.edu.cn/) will take place in Shanghai, China, from September 5-7, 2025 (tentative). Hosted by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and co-organized by the University of Edinburgh along with several other world-class universities, this biennial event builds on the success of the inaugural conference in 2023, which attracted over 200 attendees from around the world.

Achieving carbon neutrality requires a profound and systematic transformation across technology, economy and society, reshaping traditional modes of production, living and consumption. As a multi-disciplinary and comprehensive research area, carbon neutrality intersects with critical fields such as energy, environment, finance, and management.

The primary goal of ICCN-2025 is to unite leading scientists, engineers, industry experts, and practitioners to exchange insights, share breakthroughs, and foster collaborations that will accelerate the global progress toward carbon neutrality.

ICCN-2025 invites submissions of two-page extended abstracts on the following themes, including but not limited to:

1. Please use the two-page extended abstract template when preparing your submission. (The template is available for download on the ICCN-2025 website.)

2. Submit your two-page extended abstract for ICCN-2025 online via the submission center at https://iccn.sjtu.edu.cn/Passport/Login.

31 March 2025: Extended Abstract Submission Deadline

31 May 2025: Notification of Extended Abstract Acceptance

30 June 2025: Early-Bird Registration Deadline

31 July 2025: Full-Length Paper Submission Deadline (optional. Selected high-quality papers will be invited for submission to the journal Carbon Neutrality)

Publication in Journal

Selected high-quality full-length papers from ICCN-2025 will be further reviewed and published in Carbon Neutrality (https://www.springer.com/journal/43979).

Registration Fee

At least one author of an accepted abstract must register for the conference. Authors are required to complete registration and payment by the day of the conference. The registration portal is currently not open. Please stay tuned for updates.
