**First-Level Disciplines of Shanghai at SJTU**

*Building First-Class Disciplines in Shanghai’s Higher Education* is one of the key projects of Shanghai Municipality’s initiative to boost innovation in higher education. It is also the main theme of the *“Building High Level Universities and First-Class Disciplines”* in Shanghai’s *Middle and Long Term Framework of Education Reform.* In total, SJTU has 7 disciplines in the first-class discipline catalog (Type A) and 27 in catalog B listed in the project.
