According to the Examination Regulation of May 2015, the master program is modularized. Most of the modules are finishing with a graded examination (s. below). The final grade is calculated by all marks of the modules. In addition, all examinations are recorded with ECTS (see Examination Regulation).

Overview study program

The study program offers the following two options (see figure):

Shorcuts:

V=lecture, P=lab course, S=seminar, Coll=Colloquium; SWS=hours per week, ECTS=credit points, MP=module exam, MTP=submodul exam;

Option A):

Option B):

Minor subjects in the field of "Chemistry"

Besides 2 major subjects in Chemistry (see above), the minor subject can also be in Chemistry excluding the subjects already taken as majors. 15 ECTS have to be acquired in the lab course and the lecture part.

Lab course

Total in semester: 10 SWS; 9 ECTS

In addition, a lab course of the orientation semesters in the Bachelor "Chemistry and Biochemistry" can be recognized as minor subject, if it has not been already recognized in the Bachelor program.

Lectures

Total in semester: 4 SWS; 6 ECTS - WiSe/SoSe

Minor subject "Chemical Biology"

If "Chemical Biology" is selected as minor subject (besides 2 major subjects in Chemistry - see above), 15 ECTS have to be acquired in WP 12 and WP 48.

WP 12 - Lab course

WP 48 - Lectures

Total in semester: 4 SWS; 6 ECTS

If "Computer Sciences" is selected as minor subject (besides 2 major subjects in Chemistry - see above), 15 ECTS have to be acquired out of WP 18 bis WP 20 and WP 56, WP 57.

Courses in Computer Sciences

*) If "Introduction to Progamming: Programming and..." was already taken in the Bachelor with 6 ECTS, it can no longer be taken in the Master with 9 ECTS! I.e. those must make another 6 ECTS module and an additional course to 3 ECTS e.g. Java or proseminars.

Minor subject "Specific Supplement to Chemistry"

The following list of "Specific Supplement to Chemistry" subjects may vary according to the availability. There is no claim to select one of them.\ The minor subjects in Patent Law and Material Sciences are not longer availabe (since WiSe 19/20) to choose and to acquire ECTS!

Specific Supplement "Pharmacology and Toxicology"

Lab course (*please be aware of notice!) - WiSe

Lectures - WiSe

Specialisations

If two major subjects in Chemistry and one minor subject are selected (see above), 15 ECTS have to be acquired in the following lecture modules of WP 2, WP 4, WP 41 and WP 42 or WP 48 to WP 50, respectively (plus those listed in the LSF ).\ In the minors Biochemistry (WP 49) and Molecular and Cellular Genetics (WP 50) the examination is only possible over two lectures with 6 ETCS - there are no exams of single lectures!

Attention: Lectures of the minor subjects Physics, Computer Sciences and Specific Supplement to Chemistry - also including Languages - can only be entered in Discipline Specific Studies with 6 ECTS at most! There, also credits of the Bachelor can be accepted, that have not been recorded there.
